Introduction
In the first quarter 2023/24, SAGRA held its provincial farmers’ day events in the following provinces: Mpumalanga, Free state, Limpopo, Eastern Cape, NorthWest and Gauteng. SAGRA organised the events in collaboration with the host former. Various stakeholders were in attendance, including department officials, suppliers, community leaders, and farmers, to mention a few.
Purpose of farmers' day events
The provinfial farmers’ day events aimed to facilitate knowledge sharing, networking, education and market access for farmers in different provinces. The events also allowed farmers to exchange knowledge, learn about new techniques and technologies, and network with industry stakeholders. Suppliers also received the opportunity to showcase their products to potential buyers. Farmers were also empowered with valuable resources and connections to enhance their farming practices and navigate agricultural challenges effectively.
